Wu Dang Tai Chi

I came to Tai Chi after many years of studying and practising yoga. Yoga helped me recover after knee surgery and opened the door to a lifelong fascination with the esoteric arts and mysticism. It remains a foundational part of my life, and its scriptures and practices continue to speak to me.

Yoga was also the gateway to Tai Chi. I’ve been practising for seven years, and my first year was spent learning one on one with my teacher, Sahu. We practised, read scriptures, shared stories and laughter, and explored how the teachings could be lived. I remember the feeling and sound of his bones as we practised pushing hands, and the challenge of holding a position as he leaned his full weight into me.

I was captivated by the practice and by the changes I felt in my body and mind. The language, metaphors, and abilities Sahu shared with me have become part of how I move through life: balanced, rooted, and strong.

Tai Chi is more than moving slowly. It’s a complete practice that strengthens the body, steadies the mind, and deepens focus. I continue to learn from it, and now share the practice through online teaching.

My one-to-one Tai Chi sessions on Zoom offer a welcoming space to slow down, build mindful movement and reconnect with yourself. Together, we develop steadiness, focus and confidence through practices that can be adapted to your body and experience. You don’t need to be fit, flexible or experienced to begin—just willing to show up. These sessions offer practical tools to help you feel more grounded and peaceful, and meet the pace of a rapidly moving world with greater clarity.
